ToggleA 4-Day Journey: Listen – Accompany – Understand
At FME Travel, we don’t just organize tours – we listen.
The Duncan family’s trip began with a simple request:
“We’d like a calm, well-paced itinerary from Cambodia into Vietnam. Something that lets the kids explore, the adults relax, and the family connect.”
We turned that vision into reality through:
- Private transportation from Cambodia into Chau Doc
- Leisurely boat rides through the Mekong canals in Ben Tre
- Traditional meals adjusted to their tastes (with vegetarian options and snacks for the kids)
- A surprise BBQ dinner by the river, complete with lanterns and local music
“Even the kids, like little Tim, marveled at Cu Chi’s secrets – his eyes lit up at the hidden tunnel doors!”
Each day was crafted for comfort and cultural depth – from coconut candy making and bike rides along village paths, to moments of stillness watching the sun dip over the Mekong.

Comfort Connection Culture
The Duncan family experienced:
- 4 days of cross-border comfort and exploration
- 300+ km of seamless travel
- 10+ authentic dishes including local fish hotpot, fresh spring rolls, and banana flower salad
- 3 river boat trips
- Countless quiet moments by the water, under palm trees, or during slow dinners filled with laughter
FME Travel handled every detail – so the family could focus on being together.

FME Travel’s 4-Day Mekong Delta Itinerary: Culture & Nature Across Borders
Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam – A Gentle Start in Chau Doc
The Duncan family arrived via international speedboat from Cambodia, welcomed by the FME team at Chau Doc pier.
A relaxing afternoon followed, ending with their first Mekong-style dinner, featuring river fish, seasonal vegetables, and fresh tropical fruits. Overnight in Chau Doc, resting by the riverside after crossing borders.

Day 2: Into the Green – From Sacred Forests to Islet Life
FME guided the family into the Tra Su Cajuput Forest, gliding through over 800 hectares of wetland, surrounded by 50+ species of birds and the calming sway of cajuput trees.

A short visit to Lady Xu Temple added spiritual depth before embarking on a 50km transfer to Can Tho. There, on Son Islet, the family experienced authentic river life:
- FME-arranged flying fish show in a rustic pond
- Traditional cake-making guided by local artisans
- Warm tea chats in stilt homes along the riverbank
“Mrs. Duncan smiled proudly as she shaped her first bánh lá mít, cheered on by her children.”

Day 3: Floating Market Magic & a Riverside Surprise
At sunrise, FME arranged a private boat to Cai Rang Floating Market, where the family observed colorful trading boats and sampled pineapple sliced right on deck.
They then visited a sun-dried noodle workshop and a cacao farm, where little Tim tasted hand-poured chocolate still warm from the mold.
That evening, the true highlight:
FME’s team fired up a BBQ feast by the river, grilling freshly caught fish, vegetables, and skewers under soft lantern light.
It wasn’t just a meal – it was a memory.

Day 4: History and Farewell – Cu Chi Tunnels & Ho Chi Minh City
The family bid goodbye to Can Tho and began their final journey to Ho Chi Minh City, stopping at the Cu Chi Tunnels.
There, even the youngest members crawled through narrow passageways and marveled at hidden trapdoors and survival ingenuity.
“Tim’s eyes lit up as he peeked into the hidden tunnels – it was like stepping into a real-life storybook,” shared Mr. Duncan.
